A Handmade Wedding

With the continuing interest in handicrafts, we are seeing more handmade elements play a part in wedding decorations at The Barn, with bunting made by the brides and family members particularly popular. One of our beautiful brides spent hours crocheting and stitching for her recent marriage. The crochet bunting on the ceremony table matched the floral arrangement by Buds Floristry perfectly and even the confetti was handmade and in keeping the crochet, as it was small wool pom poms in paper cones. …

An English Village Fete Wedding

June brought us a wedding with a quintessentially English feel. The bride and groom, Georgina and Gavin, wanted to bring elements of an English country fete to their wedding reception and the gravel courtyard outside the barn offered the perfect backdrop. Lighting Ideas

Whilst candlelight at your wedding is a romantic idea, it isn’t necessarily practical. One of our brides recently came up with an excellent alternative to naked candle flames decorating her ceremony. Instead of using large pillar candles in glass storm vases, she found a battery operated version. With added moss and flower petals, the overall effect was very realistic and you had to look quite closely to realise that the flickering “flame” was actually silk.
